Trip Information
Baguio City is known for its high altitude and cool climate, a favorite among vacationers during the summertime to cool off from the heat. Though it is a highly urbanized city, it is also one of the cleanest and greenest in the country.

Because of its geographical location, Baguio is a great place to go sightseeing because of its panoramic views and pine forests. Development in this area was driven by the Americans back in the early 1900s.   What to try
Café Volante on Session Road offers a great view of the Baguio’s busiest parts of town and the best pizza and coffee in the area.

Horseback riding in Wright Park is one of the more common activities in Baguio, especially among families with children. The park is also a great site to take pictures of Cordillera Natives. If you’re a golf enthusiast, then the newly-refurbished 18-hole golf course at Baguio Country Club and Camp John Hay is the perfect spot for you to tee off and enjoy the view of the surrounding pine trees and cool climate.

Attractions

Hiking along the Ecotrail in Camp John Hay
is a perfect activity for nature lovers. It features a 1.8-kilometer walk along a path surrounded by a lush pine forest. Open-air nipa huts can be found along the trail where one can relax and take in the view. Paintball and rapelling is also available near the Ecotrail to cater to adventure lovers. The

Butterfly Sanctuary
inside Camp John Hay is a great eco-tourism spot in Baguio, with hundreds of butterfly species fluttering around as you tour the complex. Ideal time to visit the sanctuary is when the weather is fair and sunny, as they are more likely to come out during these conditions.

Baguio is also a great spot for ukay-ukay shopping, which really means bargain shopping in Filipino. Ukay-ukay stores sell imported clothes at really low prices, usually because they are secondhand. There are several locations to go ukay-ukay shopping in Baguio, but so far Mines View Park has the most shopping choices.

Festivals
Panagbenga

Month of January Baguio’s Panagbenga Festival, also known as the Festival of Flowers, is another one of the Philippines’ most attended events. This month-long festival features flower parades with floats literally decked in flowers, trade fairs and bazaars, concerts, variety shows, competitions and lots of singing and dancing.
