What to See

  • Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park - one of the world's longest navigable underground rivers, a distinguished UNESCO World Heritage Site, and among the New 7 Wonders of Nature.
  • Coron Island - notable for its rocky limestone cliffs and vast lakes. It is also a haven to diving enthusiasts where Japanese shipwrecks of World War II are found beneath.
  • Tubbataha Reef Marine Park - another recognized World Heritage site in Palawan. This vast marine sanctuary is home to many marine species and various coral reefs in the world.
  • Honda Bay - one of the major tourist attractions of Palawan. Honda Bay is made up of islets with magnificent reefs. Honda Bay is among the famed beaches of the country. Locals and tourists flock to Honda Bay for its fantastic beaches and has become favorite diving and snorkeling destination in Palawan.
  • Pambato Reef - a must-see island that features colorful and abundant coral reefs and home a variety of fishes. This marine sanctuary can be reached via 30-minute boat ride from downtown Puerto Princesa.
  • Crocodile Farm - a mini-zoo and conservation center for crocodiles.
  • Baker's Hill - situated on top of a hill, Baker's Hill is a tourist attraction place where one can delight on the many colorful and lovely houses and life-sized statues. Baker's Hill offers a variety of baked goods like hopia, mamon, brownies and a lot more.
  • Mitra's Ranch - a tourist attraction that offers an amazing view of Palawan. The property is owned by the family of Senator Ramon Mitra where visitors can enjoy the panoramic view of the Sulu Sea and Honda Bay from the house built on a hill. Its vast grounds are ideal for picnics and relaxation.
  • Baywalk- the perfect place to enjoy sunsets or leisurely strolls with friends and families. The Baywalk is also dotted with small food shops and offers exciting activities like firefly watching or bike rentals.
  • Plaza Quartel - a former fortress turned prison grounds site where 150 American and Filipino soldiers were abused, starved and burned by the Japanese during the World War II. A memorial erected in the park features a list of the names of these brave heroes. Apart from the historic significance of Plaza Cuartel, this classic Filipino-themed park has become a favorite haven which draws many locals and tourists.
  • Binuatan Creation - a weaving factory where tourist can learn and try the traditional weaving.
  • Sabang Wharf - lined with inns and huts, Sabang Wharf is the start point of the tour to the Underground River. Boats that will take you to Sabang Beach are found at the wharf.
  • Sabang Beach - the beach is more than just a small fishing village. The beach offers transportation to the to the renowned Underground River and its nearby islands. Sabang Beach is among the popular destinations in Puerto Princesa with its limestone cliffs, clear waters and fine white sands.
  • Calauit Safari - an open wildlife sanctuary, home to a number of endemic flora and fauna where tourist can enjoy and experience close animal encounters.

What to Eat

  • Tamilok - also known as shipworm or saltwater clams. It is an exotic Palawan delicacy prepared as kinilaw - marinated in vinegar with chili peppers and onions
  • Tubbataha salad served with lato (seaweed) - an appetizer that is composed of raw tuna with chunks and slices of fruits (avocado, ripe mango, pomelo, pineapple, papaya), onion, garlic, lato (fresh seaweeds) and homemade Palawan dressing.
