To the North of New Zealand lies the the most populated urban city of the country, Auckland. The island’s population makes up around 32% of the entire population. Enjoy a vacation in the clean and green air of New Zealand! In Auckland, you can visit the Parnell Village, Auckland’s oldest suburban area. You can also check out the Michael Joseph Savage memorial park, a well-kept area with a tall obelisk dedicated to New Zealand’s first Labour Prime Minister. If you’re looking for something a little more modern, head over to Queen Street where a collection of fun shops and restaurants can be found.

  • Harbour Bridge - An eight-lane box truss motorway bridge over the Waitemata Harbour. It is the only bridge in New Zealand that you are able to climb.

  • Viaduct Harbour - A former commercial harbour on the Auckland waterfront. It has now been turned into a development of mostly upscale apartment buildings.

  • Queen Street - a big commercial street lined with multiple attractions, shops and restaurants.

  • Auckland Domain - One of New Zealand’s oldest and biggest parks. It houses one of the most famous tourist attractions, the Auckland War Memorial Museum.

  • Parnell Village - The oldest suburb within Auckland. Explore the area to find restaurants, cafés, galleries, shopping districts and more.

  • Tamaki Drive - A coastal road that snakes along the Waitemata Harbour. It has a walking area which is a favorite jogging route and it provides easy access to the local beaches.

  • Michael Joseph Savage Memorial Park in Mission Bay - A large park with an obelisk dedicated to the first Labour Prime Minister of New Zealand. It is a great place to just sit back and enjoy the peaceful moments.

Local Eats

  • Seafood - Auckland’s waters are a great place to hunt for some fresh shellfish and other marine delicacies that you can cook and dine on.

  • Roast Lamb - A favorite among the kiwi people. New Zealand produced lamb is considered the most delicious and is one of the top imported products in the country.

  • Maori Hangi - more of a cooking method than an actual dish, the hangi is a traditional Maori method of cooking which has people digging a pit, heating up rocks and putting a basket of food on top. Some food items that are cooked in hangi include pudding, chicken, seafood and even vegetables.

DAY 1

Arrive at the Auckland Airport and meet up with your transport that will take you to your hotel. Hotel standard check-in is at 2pm. Enjoy your first night in leisure.

DAY 2

Have a nice breakfast at the hotel and then transition into a Half-day City Tour. First stop is the harbour bridge, New Zealand’s only climbable bridgeway. Moving on, explore the Viaduct Harbor which is a commercial and residential precinct close to the waters. Queen Street, a major commercial street, is next on your adventure itinerary. From there, travel to the Auckland Domain, a historical park that is also the region’s oldest one. Parnell Village comes next and it is well known for being the oldest suburban area. When you’re done, take a nice long walk on the tamaki drive, a winding route that connects to some relaxing beaches. The cherry at the top of this adventure is a relaxing time at the Michael Savage Memorial Park, dedicated to the first Labour Prime Minister of the country. Return to the hotel to get some rest.

DAY 3

Eat some breakfast to prepare for a day of free exploration at your own time and pace. Return to the hotel when the day ends and start packing for the last day in this Auckland trip.

DAY 4

Have your breakfast at the hotel then make the most of your free time. Just make sure to return before 12 noon, the standard hotel check-out time. You will then be transported to the airport for your departure flight.
